Spaceport America

Spaceport America, the world’s first purpose-built commercial spaceport, is under construction in the backyard of the New Mexico Borderplex. The $225M facility will offer commercial spaceflight capabilities for a wide variety of aerospace companies. Virgin Galactic will be the anchor tenant in the 110,000 sq. ft. Terminal & Hangar Facility, which will be served by a 10,000 foot long, 200-foot wide runway and associated taxiways.  The Terminal & Hangar Facility is designed to achieve LEED Gold standards and is scheduled for completion in early 2011.
